Warrington Housing Association has started the build of 30 homes for affordable rent on the site of the former Penketh Tavern.

To celebrate, a sod cutting ceremony was performed by the Mayor of Warrington, Cllr Maureen Creaghan.

These new homes on Greystone Road are for people aged 55 and over and will be ready for the new residents to move in by the summer of 2022.

The development consists of 30 one- and two-bed apartments and has been made possible by substantial financial investment by Warrington Housing Association as well as grant funding from Homes England.
