A new lease of life
The Stadium Quarter is an ambitious £190 million project that will introduce a vibrant corridor of mixed-use development between the bus interchange and Warrington Wolves' Halliwell Jones Stadium.
Well connected and bringing together educational, business, leisure and housing uses, this scheme will completely revitalise this previously underdeveloped area north of the town centre.
A phased approach
The Stadium Quarter will be a phased development programme over the next decade, creating up to 1,000 construction jobs in the process and nearly 4000 new permanent jobs when fully completed in 2028.
Phase one of the project began in 2014 with the construction of The Base - an £8.5m project designed to facilitate the growth of start-ups and SMEs. Aimed at businesses with the engineering and digital/tech sectors, The Base provides high-quality office accommodation within a collaborative and innovative environment to support the development of technologies towards Industry 4.0.

Right next door to The Base is UTC Warrington - a science and engineering University Technical College in association with Manchester Metropolitan University. The £10m facility was completed in September 2016, complete with £1m of specialist engineering and digital equipment; this college provides education for 14-19 years.
Onside Youth Zone
The development of the new Onside Youth Zone is now well underway. Located close to the UTC, the new £6.5m OnSide Youth Zone will offer affordable activities in sports, arts, music, employability and mentoring to young people aged from eight to 19, or up to 25 for those with a disability. This is due to open Spring 2022.
The next chapter of the Stadium Quarters development is underway, with the High Street Groups construction of their Cheshire Junction development. This scheme on John Steet/Winwick Street will consist of 362 residential apartments plus commercial space, complete with a multi-storey car park close to Central Station.
