Thousands of people enjoyed the tasty treats on offer at Time Square’s first ever Food and Drink Festival.
Warrington’s inaugural Food and Drink Festival took place at Time Square, outside the multi-award winning Warrington Market, from Friday 15 to Sunday 17 July.
The festival provided a fantastic selection of businesses selling a wonderful array of fresh foods from around the world. This included specialist traders such as George Koumarides, selling traditional Greek Foods, and a huge choice of vegan foods from their Greek Deli, plus a unique Polish bakery for those with a sweet tooth.
There was also a host of street food vendors with mouth-watering menus on offer, including a Spanish paella stall from Cordoba, traditional Greek kebabs, Meats of the World, including Alligator, Ostrich, Kangaroo and Wild Boar, plus plenty of other traders offering something to tempt everyone’s taste buds.
Cllr Tom Jennings, cabinet member for economic development and innovation, said: “It’s great to see more new events coming to the market and Time Square. It’s vital that the council provides a diverse programme of events and activities in the town centre and this is another example of this commitment.
“Lots of people turned out for the first food and drink festival and it received rave reviews. We can now build on this to make it bigger and better next time as Warrington Market continues to go from strength to strength.
“I’m pleased to see people taking advantage of all that the town centre has to offer making it a bustling hive of activity, with events like this giving people even more reasons to visit.”
Allan Hartwell, Managing Director of Market Place who organised the festival together with Warrington Market, said: “The festival provided a great opportunity to bring our specialist brand of food and drink businesses to Warrington and combine them with the already superb offer at the market.”
