United Utilities applies for 70,000 sq ft Warrington facility.

The application focuses on 4.5 acres at Lingley Mere Business Park, which used to be the RAF Burtonwood airbase.

The utility company wants permission to build space for storage and distribution, as well as ancillary offices. Those buildings would range from 12 metres to 16.5 metres in height depending on their location.

While the exact number of buildings is undecided, Aew Architects submitted designs showing what the scheme could look like with one giant unit and with two smaller ones. The architects said that the buildings would likely be of steel portal frame construction.

United Utilities Property Services’ proposal includes plans for parking for trailers and other vehicles, as well as cycle storage.

Access to the development would be off Omega Boulevard.
