Warrington and Manchester-based law firm Primas Law has advised on a new joint venture for the former Liverpool FC training ground.

The collaborative venture will see the club's former Melwood training ground become a sporting and education hub for the Liverpool City Region community.

The venture has been masterminded by transformation and regeneration group Torus and brings together the Fowler-Carragher Academy, set up by former Liverpool players Robbie Fowler and Jamie Carragher.

Melwood will also involve Olympian Steve Parry’s organisation, swim!, making use of the swimming facilities.

The site will host a range of new affordable homes and an education academy, with the aim of the project intended to enhance the community. This will be by providing housing and accessible sporting facilities to preserve the iconic sporting history of the site and create its own legacy.

The complex deal was structured and advised upon by boutique corporate and commercial legal firm Primas Law who guided Torus on the multi-disciplinary scheme.
