A link to success
Centre Park is a vital employment hub and has been a desirable destination for businesses moving to Warrington for many years.
Due to its location, Centre Park has never fully developed. Located at the edge of the town centre and adjacent to the river it's only access point was a single bridge from the Brian Bevan roundabout. Until now...
Improved road links and access
Warrington Council has just completed a £19.89m road and bridge project to the south of Centre Park linking Chester Road with Slutchers Lane and Wilson Patten Street to the north. Built by Balfour Beatty, the new road and bridge are vital in diverting traffic away from the Bridgefoot area, where traffic congestion has been a long-standing problem. This route is one of the critical infrastructure improvements to the town centre and through traffic.
New Neighbours
In line with Central Government strategies for brownfield development, the new link road has unlocked previously undevelopable land to the south of Centre Park. Once used for a driving range, Countryside Properties now have planning permission for a 500 plus unit residential development of flats and houses. With river frontage views, this new development on the edge of town is an exciting project that will provide much needed new homes.
Hotel investment
In March 2021, the council gave the site planning permission for a new seven-storey hotel. Located at Centre Park Square, just off Slutchers Lane, this 126-bed hotel will be built on a one-acre site currently used as a 104-space surface car park. This exciting new build further illustrates that Warrington's town centre investment isn't slowing down anytime soon. The future is bright.
