Mid February saw the grand reopening of the Hub with all new features and a revamp of those that already existed. provided by NWCH Framework partner BAM.

The Hub, whose car park has doubled in size to accommodate visitors, is now a leisure centre as well as a point of access for council and community health services. The site includes a new 4000 book library, as well as a new medical centre on the ground floor where West Warrington working with Warrington Clinical Commissioning Group will provide various medical services starting in April this year. This format of a Hub containing public services is a relatively new feature for a building of this type and is a welcome addition to the local area.

There is also a 120 station gym and 3 studios where group sessions and classes will be held. These studios are also technology enabled meaning they can accommodate virtual classes alongside those which are more traditional. The building has a very open, light and airy and has been designed to be dementia friendly using signage and colour schemes to help aid those who suffer from the illness. The Client, Warrington Livewire are expecting to become the countries first public facing specialist dementia friendly service which will be quite the achievement and a credit to the town.
