Plans to bring forward more than two million sq ft of space at the Omega development in St Helens – part of which would be occupied by a discount retail giant – look set to advance next week.
The application is a hybrid one, with full permission sought for an 878,012 sq ft operation.
This would comprise an 829,725 sq ft warehouse with 48,287 sq ft of ancillary office space in an area dubbed Omega Zone Eight.
A 576-space car park is also lined up, with the unit’s end user identified as Home Bargains.
The outline plans include an extension to the facility proposed in the full application, as well as a trio of additional sites.
Together, these would comprise 1,333,971 sq ft and operate as bases for both manufacturing and logistics uses.
