Warrington is beating its North West city rivals Manchester and Liverpool in terms of technology investment, it’s been revealed.
The Cheshire town has been ranked in the UK’s top 20 destinations for high-growth technology businesses, beating its city rivals in terms of funds raised to support company expansions.
The findings have been revealed in the latest Tech Nation survey, which reviews the sector and, as the town’s economic development chief said, “vindicates the council’s ‘grow your own’strategy”.
Warrington is home to companies such as Datel and MDS to global IT firms including Dassault Systems, Hewlett Packard, DXC Technology and Tata Consulting services (TCS).
The report showed that £88m was raised by Warrington companies to fund ‘second stage’ expansion of their proven business models between 2015 and 2018 – more than anywhere else in the North West.
