Engineering firm Wood has won a multi-million pound contract to provide engineering and technical services at a new nuclear power station.
The work to Hinkley Point C in Somerset, the UK’s first new nuclear power station for more than 20 years.
The Hinkley Technical Support Alliance (HTSA) agreement will last for five years with an optional five-year extension.
Wood will provide station developers EDF Energy with full life cycle services to improve project delivery and commercial performance.
Wood’s nuclear business employs more than 1,300 people in the North West of England, mainly at Knutsford and Birchwood in Cheshire and at Sellafield and Whitehaven in Cumbria.
