A recruitment services specialist which has more than 10,000 contractors placed in roles across the globe has increased sales past the £700m mark and is eyeing further opportunities overseas.
Fircroft has been filling specialist technical positions for almost half a century, focusing on mid- to senior-level engineers for contract and permanent jobs.
The main sectors in which it operates are oil and gas, automotive, petrochemical and chemical, power, nuclear and renewables, mining and minerals, ICT, and infrastructure and construction.
For the year to 31 August 2017, Fircroft Engineering Services reported turnover of £732m compared to £656m the previous 12 months.
EBITDA before exceptionals was also up from £10m to £11.5m, although the company slipped to a pre-tax loss of £251,000 having made a profit of £3.95m in 2016.
Fircroft noted that challenges surrounding the oil industry continued during the year, impacting revenue and profitability. However, this was partially offset by the acquisition of One Key in May 2016.
