Warrington firms joined homebuilder Countryside at a ‘Meet the Buyer’ event on 29th March for the opportunity to become part of its local supply chain network, as it looks to further expand its presence in the region.

Local companies are now lined up to benefit from a raft of North West based construction work following the event, which was held in conjunction with Warrington Borough Council’s urban regeneration partner, Warrington & Co, at the Village Hotel on Centre Park Square.

Fulfilling a commitment to bring growth to the local economy and job market, Countryside, welcomed a range of small and medium sized subcontractors to the event – including construction, health and safety, procurement, customer care, technical and commercial specialists.

Countryside, which opened its regional headquarters in Warrington in 1996, invited attendees to meet its teams, register interest and tender for new housing contracts across the region.

The event follows Countryside’s impressive four-year increase in new-build housing production and forms part of the business’ drive to strengthen its local supply chain network across its North West-based housing portfolio.

Julian Kirk, Commercial Director for Countryside North, commented: “Forming strong partnerships with businesses in and around Warrington ultimately ensures that the financial investment into the North West remains in the region and the economic impact of our work brings a lasting benefit for the area.

“Our Meet the Buyer event in Warrington was intended to create further opportunities for the region’s businesses to become involved in our work and further generate local employment and training opportunities.”

Steve Park, Managing Director of Warrington & Co., Warrington’s partnership for growth, added: “This was a great event with a fabulous turnout and I applaud the initiative taken by Countryside in hosting it and supporting our local businesses and supply chain.”
