A Warrington manufacturer which specialises in the aerospace, defence and industrial sectors is ready to take advantage of the “multitude of exciting opportunities” it is beginning to see after turnover neared the £20m mark.
Ionix Systems can trace its roots back to 1882 when Ward & Goldstone was founded by Meyer Hart Goldstone and James Henry Ward in Gorton. It has since gone through many transformations and now operates out of Taylor Business Park.
It produces and sells wiring harness systems.
For the year to 31 December 2017, Ionix reported turnover of £19.3m compared to £18.6m the previous 12 months.
This was attributed to securing contract wins with both its main and new customers in the commercial aerospace and military markets.
Pre-tax profits fell slightly from £3.14m to £2.99m on the back of “tough competition as the pound continued to struggle against the euro and dollar.
