Fostering is a role that can be undertaken whilst working full-time. Working families can be excellent role models for children in care, and Warrington Borough Council is encouraging businesses to play their part in developing the local fostering community.
There are currently 113 Foster Carers in Warrington. These include Administrators, Accountants, Managers, IT Professionals, Police Officers, Teachers, Care Workers, Cleaners and more. Fostering is an incredibly rewarding role and we offer an excellent support, training and benefits package, with allowances from £295/week. We need to recruit more carers who live in and around Warrington to ensure that children who cannot live with their parents are able to remain near their own communities.
Individual businesses will be being approached and invited to host the Fostering Service recruitment roadshow. Roadshows will consist of the following, dependant on the suitability for individual businesses:
- Half-hour lunchtime information sessions- a friendly, informal presentation and an opportunity for attendees to ask the team and the foster carer any questions.
- Half-hour breakfast sessions, as above, but in the morning.
- Promotional stand- we can have a presence in the reception of businesses, and be on hand for a couple of hours to provide employees with information and advice in a less formal forum.
