An expanded events programme around the themes of performance, people and place will highlight the extent of Cheshire and Warrington’s investment opportunities at MIPIM 2020, the LEP has confirmed.
In what will be the fourth year that the region has exhibited at the event, it will work closer with the NP11 partnership as it helps to promote collaboration across the Northern Powerhouse.
Taking place in Cannes between 10-13 March, MIPIM will see Cheshire and Warrington’s delegation led by the LEP alongside Cheshire West and Chester Council and Warrington Borough Council.
The supporting delegation will be led by Patrizia with speakers on the programme of events including Jeremy Pocklington, director general Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government; Adela Cristea, senior director of development for UK and Ireland at Radisson Hotel Group; Mark Davy, founder of Future City; Wolfgang Gold, chief executive of Gold Hotel Solutions; Jessica Bowles, director of strategy at Bruntwood; and Myles Kitcher, managing director of Peel Environmental.
Philip Cox, chief executive of Cheshire and Warrington LEP, said: “Cheshire and Warrington is at the heart of one of the UK’s best performing economies, with workforce productivity levels rivalling those generated anywhere in the country outside of London.
“MIPIM presents a valuable opportunity to showcase our skills base and the opportunities for global investors – including our world-leading strengths in life sciences, energy, high-value and automotive manufacturing.
“We have some of the most important national centres for technology and innovation in the Cheshire Science Corridor. Birchwood Park is one of the most successful centres for nuclear services in the UK, Thornton Science Park is at the heart of our game changing Energy Innovation District and Alderley Park is a world famous life science cluster.
“We believe our ongoing success in partnership, productivity and prosperity will help build a blueprint for performance, people and place which we are showcasing at MIPIM.”
