IT’S business as usual says the new face of Warrington Market Andy Ward, who successfully led a re-build project at Sheffield where he worked for 18 years.
Andy has been appointed Warrington Market’s Project Manager, following the departure of former manager Steve Pickering, who has retired after 18 years.
But Andy is not completely new to Warrington Market, working as a consultant on the new build project, involving a temporary market, currently being built outside the main entrance of the existing building, which is due to open in June.
This will be followed by a brand new market being built on the existing site, including the front façade of the former Boots building on Bridge Street.
More than 50 traders will operate from the temporary building, which when vacated will become restaurants as part of the bigger project. There will be around 100 traders in the new market which is scheduled to open in 2019 as part of the multi-million pound Time Square regeneration.
The regeneration will see the return of a multi-screen cinema to the town centre along with a number of well-known high street restaurant brands.
