Birchwood Science Park-based IESA, which employs a workforce of approximately 500, has been bought in an £88m deal.
Electrocomponents is behind the takeover, which has been completed in line with its strategy to build out its value-added service proposition.
Founded in 2002, IESA provides value-added services across procurement/sourcing, transaction processing, inventory and stores management. Its services are designed to allow clients to improve their efficiency through the MyMRO platform.
As part of Electrocomponents, IESA and its clients will benefit from the scale and international spread of the broader group. Its relations with overseas suppliers will further enable the Manchester company to enhance its offering.
IESA’s management undertook a management buyout in May 2012 supported by Gresham Private Equity and since has grown its revenues four-fold. It completed the acquisition of Active Industrial Supply in 2017.
