Warrington based businesswoman Christine Ditchfield, founder of 3 Pugs Gin, is celebrating after winning the Inspiring Women Entrepreneur of the Year 2019 award at the Lowry Hotel in Manchester
Founded in 1992, the Inspiring Women Awards have recognised the achievements of 100s of women in the North West and North Wales.
Christine and Stephen Ditchfield combined their two great loves – pugs and gin – into a dream business – Three Pugs Gin! It’s named after their three pugs, Pepsi, Tutu and Mojo and their faces are on the bottles and all the branding. They love their dogs and they love gin, so it combined their two passions.
The ‘drunken’ slanting bottle is something a little different which stands out when you look at a selection of gins on the shelf. Christine had always wanted to have my own business doing something she was very passionate about.
Now lots of local bars, restaurants and farm shops in Cheshire stock their gins and customers range from dog lovers who like the name and the dogs, to gin enthusiasts who want to try something different. People think it’s a novelty at first but then realise it’s a really good gin!
They also support other people who are starting out making their own gins as they feel it is good to give something back to the gin making community.
Christine said after winning the award, “I hope that I can use this award as a starting point to help and inspire others to chase and make their dreams a reality, I never expected to be embarking on a new career at 60 years of age, but here I am and it’s a fantastic feeling to be able to do something which I feel very passionate about. It does not feel like work at all.”
