Omega is the largest mixed-use development site in the North West.
With immediate access to the region’s motorway network from Junction 8 of the M62, it’s unrivalled location has already proved attractive to Brake Bros, Hermes Parcelnet, Travis Perkins and Asda, all of whom have chosen the site for new regional logistics centres.
However, Omega South is not just about B2 and B8 uses. The scheme benefits from an outline planning consent which will deliver up to 1.4m sqft of high quality offices over the coming years.
There are also proposals around 1,100 new homes and opportunities for convenience retail and leisure facilities are also available.
The development as a whole will be set within a network of vibrant landscaped, woodland, parkland and wildlife areas, including a 35 acre ‘Green Heart’ at its core, providing high quality amenity space for all.
To date the development has attracted £236 million investment, and created or safeguarded 3,300 jobs.
Only one plot of approximately 50,000 sq ft of developable space remains. Omega North is now home to major logistics facilities for Hermes, Brakes and Travis Perkins.
Plots totalling 1.22million sq ft remain available for B2 and B8 uses (manufacturing/ distribution). Omega South is home to a £100 million logistics unit for Asda/Walmart currently being fitted out for a 2016 opening. A 687,000sq ft logistics and manufacturing unit is being constructed for The HUT Group and work is about to commence on a major automotive manufacturing facility.
Outline planning consent has been granted for 1,100 new homes, up to 1.4m sqft of high quality offices and for convenience retail and leisure facilities.
