The Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund (NPIF) has backed energy services business Aberla, its maiden investment into the Cheshire and Warrington area.
Maven Capital Partners has announced a £500,000 investment on behalf of the NPIF into the Warrington-based company. Maven was appointed earlier this year to manage the £57.5m NPIF – Maven Equity Finance which is focussed on providing flexible equity funding to high-potential small- and medium-sized enterprises primarily based in the North West.
Aberla is backed by Praetura, which successfully brought AIM-listed Inspired Energy to market. Aberla provides projects and services that enable businesses to improve energy efficiencies and make significant cost savings on its energy consumption.
The NPIF investment will allow Aberla to expand the team and exploit opportunities in the growing market for commercial solar photovoltaic systems, battery storage and air source heat pumps which benefit from the UK government’s Renewable Heat Incentive scheme.
