Warrington Borough Council is actively looking at renewable technology opportunities across the borough – from potential heat networks on our new developments to retro fitting buildings with solar panels. We have set up a sustainable energy task group to look at potential projects that could be delivered that would reduce the carbon emissions of the borough, reduce energy costs for the people in those buildings and potentially create a source of income for the authority. It is a great area for the authority to be spending time exploring the benefits it could bring to us.
The Carbon Trust have lots of information about renewables for business on their website and is a good place to start for those looking to learn more about renewable technologies: http://www.carbontrust.com/home
If you are interested in sustainability generally as an organisation you could sign the Warrington Declaration. Signing the declaration gives you access to a network of other organisations who are interested in sustainability and gives you a way to shout about your commitment to sustainability.
