Following an extensive national recruitment exercise, Warrington Collegiate is delighted to announce the appointment of Nichola Newton as Principal and Chief Executive. Nichola will take up her new role in February 2015 from Paul Hafren who is retiring at Christmas after twelve years as Principal of the college.
This appointment represents a significant step forward in achieving the College’s aspiration of being recognised as one of North West’s highest performing Colleges, strategically positioned to be at the forefront in educational and training opportunities that are integral to the economic and social development of the region.
With a highly successful career in Further Education, Nichola has gained an extensive knowledge of education and training, joining Warrington Collegiate from Leeds City College where she is Deputy Principal. She is highly respected throughout the College sector, having been a senior leader with a strong record of success in her previous roles at Runshaw College, Nelson and Colne College and Ashton Sixth Form College.
Having played key roles in two outstanding colleges in the past, Nichola is ideally placed to continue Warrington Collegiate’s journey to becoming an outstanding vocational college and a leading business school in the UK.

She will join our hugely capable executive team, bringing complementary skills and experience, which will ensure the college continues to deliver an innovative, relevant and excellent educational experience for our students.”
Nichola is impressed with the commitment and pride of the staff during her visits to the college prior to taking up her appointment and has found the students complimentary and proud of their time at Warrington Collegiate.

I am committed to working with the senior team and staff at the college to improve life chances for all who choose to study with us”.
Nichola will also play a leading role in the Warrington Collegiate Education Trust which currently comprises Beamont Collegiate Academy and the recently opened Future Tech Studio School.
